I had difficulty with Minecraft that I hope I can relieve for someone else. I run a 32 player Minecraft server for my friends and family and it has displayed a “Communication Error” on the client when you pull up the server list.
The cause was the MOTD in server.properties was too long. I shortened it to 26 characters and it works fine. I didn’t play with the exact length.
